Spring-ing into action
BIOREME has had a busy first quarter and we’re very pleased to see our network continue to grow with participants worldwide from a diverse range of sectors. Following our launch event in February [watch here→]; we had the first talk in our quarterly webinar series [watch here→]; and two of our funding opportunities went live, a rolling Collaboration Starter Grant, to fund activities that promote collaborations [apply here→] and funding for one year for an ECR to complete a Fellowship aligned to one of BIOREME’s three themes [apply here→].
What’s next?
Patient workshops We have been working closely with our collaborators Asthma+Lung UK to plan workshops with patient groups being held in late June to explore key challenges that our research could help to address within BIOREME’s three key themes.
Sandpit event We are currently finalising plans for the first of our annual challenge-led Sandpit events to be held in September 2022. The event will be centred on Long-COVID, where we aim to have curated data from a number of relevant trials presented to a diverse audience who will collaborate to develop research proposals. We have funding available to kick-start some pilot data analysis/machine learning/mechanistic modelling projects. Further details will be announced in May 2022.
Video Animation We have been working closely with SciAni to create a short animation video. The animation will clearly summarise the motivations and aims of the network and breakdown our three key challenges. This animation will be used to interact with diverse audiences including patient groups and the general public at outreach events. We can’t wait to share the final product with you in early June!
